In a visit underscoring the growing relationship between faith leaders and African leadership, President Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo hosted Pastor Robert Kayanja in Kinshasa. The meeting, held at the presidential offices on Mount Ngaliema, was attended by Archbishop Evariste Ejiba Yamapia, President of the Church of Awakening in Congo (ERC). Discussions focused on promoting peace in the Great Lakes region and fostering regional cooperation in agriculture.

During the visit, Pastor Kayanja expressed his deep gratitude for the warm welcome, saying, “We thank God for President Tshisekedi, and we thank God for allowing us to be received on Congolese soil. Congo is very dear to us. It stood up for Africa in so many ways.” He continued, “We love Congo. The awakening of East Africa began in Congo. There is a very strong connection between Congo and the region.”

In a moment of exciting news, Pastor Kayanja announced that renowned American televangelist Pastor Benny Hinn would hold a crusade in Kinshasa at a date yet to be determined. This announcement was met with enthusiasm, as it marks a significant spiritual event for the city and the region.

Pastor Kayanja also took the opportunity to commend President Tshisekedi for his efforts in allowing religious freedom to flourish in the DRC, acknowledging the government’s support for the growth of faith-based initiatives. As a gesture of appreciation, Pastor Kayanja gifted President Tshisekedi one of his books, further strengthening the bond between the two leaders.
